Tri Town Veterans Day Parade
Rockland, MA

The Chapter was represented with 4 motorcycles. We led the parade, right behind the fire trucks and police cars! Despite the crappy weather there was great turnout of spectators. We enjoyed breakfast after the parade at Morell's Country Kitchen in Abington, then went back to Post 22 for some post parade festivities. A good time was had by all.

Edward "EJ" Jordan Memorial Poker Run

The first annual poker run was a Huge Success! We had a wonderful turn out, some great prizes and raffles at the end, and a great time at Post 226! We learned a lot and will look to improve on our efforts and have an even bigger ride next year. Thanks to all who came out and helped, we could not have done this successfully without all of your help! Great Job Everyone!

8th Annual Korean War Rememberance Ride

Unfortunately due to logistacal problems, the Korean War Rememberance Ride has been cancelled for 2011. We fully expect for this ride to return next year as we are committed to keeping the memory of our Fallen Brothers and Sisters alive.

Road Captain George T. put together a Chapter 22 Ride to the Memorial Park in Middleboro that took place on this date in an effort to keep the Spirit of the Korean War Ride Alive this year. This ride was well attended by the Chapter and they laid two wreaths, one at the Korean War Memorial, and one at the All Wars Memorial.

After the ride the group proceeded to Hanson for Roast Beef Dinner at the Indian Head Pub. A great time was had by all, I will post pictures later today.

Watch the website for updates on next years ride as we get them. Thanks for your support and we hope you'll join us on Oct 23th for the Edward "EJ" Jordan Memorial Poker Run.

10 September 2011

Frank, Alice, Michelle, and Joe attended this event as a group. We had a wonderful time! We left Whitman around 11 on Friday and took a nice easy ride down to Greenwich, CT where we spent the night at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Wow, what a nice hotel! We had a nice ride around Greenwich Friday evening and had a late supper at Athen's Pizza. If you are ever in the area and looking for good food, this is the place to go! All that was missing was some extra space to bring home the left overs. It truly was a shame to have to leave them behind, but there simply was no room on the bikes to bring them home.

Saturday started out with a quick ride down to Exit 3 off 95 to the staging area. When we arrived the Glenville Fire Department was just hanging Old Glory off the ladder truck! There were a small gathering of bikes already there but it was still pretty early. We asked where we could walk to breakfast and got directions to a little diner around the corner, you know, just up the hill past the Rolls Royce and Bently Dealers! Had a good breakfast and then headed back to the staging area.

We pulled out promplty at noon with between 125 and 150 bikes. The NYPD had told us they were a little short, and they were, we had two motor officers and two cruisers to escort our group to Lower Manhatten. They got us there and they did an awesome job of it!

There was some concern as to how close to Ground Zero we would be able to get with the extra Security in place due to the President's coming to town. Again, the NYPD delivered, they took us right down West St and parked us right in front of the Freedom Tower for a quick moment of silence. It was so amazing to see that building rising out of the ground! There are 80+ stories above ground now. I wish we could have seen more of the memorial, but what we could see of it was beautiful.

The pictures I took are posted on the Photos Page, just click the link and scroll down to the proper album! I can't begin to tell you how incredible this ride is to me, if you can, please consider joining us next year and riding in.

Brandon's Run

This was an awesome time! Tyller and I attended and were joined by about 15 other brave bikers who took an awesome 50 mile ride in the rain! This was accompanied by a great live animal show as well as lots of vendors and activities for the family. The Patriots mascot Pat Patriot was there with two beautiful young cheerleaders for pictures and entertainment. The raised a lot of money for a super cause. Of course I forgot to bring my camera so I don't have any pictures to post. If you want, take a look at the website below for pictures and info on next years Brandon's Run! Brandon's Run Website

Field Of Honor
Tribute to Veterans
Cohasset, MA

The Sons of the American Legion of Cohasset will host the 5th annual Field of Honor on Memorial weekend 2011. Visitors and volunteers from the surrounding communities will experience an amazing display of patriotism including hundreds of large U.S. flags atop 8ft poles in perfect rows on a field of green. This living display of heroism will fly as a temporary patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, and will honor all veterans who served our nation to preserve our security and freedom and Gold Star Families.

Sat - Sun 16th-17th April 2011
The Moving Wall Security Detail, Arlington, MA

This went well considering the alarm went off at 0400 and was waking up an 8 and 9 year old. It was nice to see Dyllan and Tyller excited about helping the families and Veteran's who came to the Wall. Even though we only had a little bit of traffic because of the time and the weather, they did their best to help out. George Turner and his grandson Tyler joined Joe and Michelle with the two boys on Saturday morning. Niall joined Joe and Michelle on Sunday with the boys. We met a lot of really nice people and got to spend some quality time at the Moving Wall. It was good to get our Chapter involved with this and get our name out there as a group that is willing to help out. The Moving Wall will be in Natick June 9-12, 2011, we are waiting to hear if they will need help from us. If they do, I'm sure we will be there.

Abington St. Patricks Day Parade

We were represented with 6 bikes
and 9 Riders! It was great to see
Alice with Frank and Rosemary with Jack
Tyller was there with Joe as well.
The crowds were huge, and I kept hearing
"Who are these guys?" We need to find
a way to let people know who we are
at events like this. How about a couple
of walkers in front carrying our banner/flag?
